Duplicati with Enderchest
Duplicati's S3 Compatible destination works with Enderchest. Three fields and one advanced option are all it needs.
Endpoint https://s3.enderchest.store · region eu-ams-1 · path-style addressing · an access key from the console. 50 GB free on every account, then $3 per TB per month; downloads and API requests are free.
In the web interface
- Add a backup and choose S3 Compatible as the storage type.
- Tick Use SSL.
- Server: choose Custom server URL and enter
s3.enderchest.store, withouthttps://. - Bucket name: the bucket you created in the console, for example
backups. You may add a folder:backups/laptop. - AWS Access ID and AWS Access Key: your access key ID and secret.
- Under Advanced options add
s3-ext-forcepathstyleand set it totrue. Without it Duplicati puts the bucket name in the host name, which Enderchest does not serve. - Click Test connection, then continue to choose what to back up.
On the command line
duplicati-cli backup "s3://backups/laptop" /home/me \ --s3-server-name=s3.enderchest.store \ --use-ssl=true \ --s3-ext-forcepathstyle=true \ --aws-access-key-id=YOUR_ACCESS_KEY_ID \ --aws-secret-access-key=YOUR_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY \ --passphrase=YOUR_BACKUP_PASSPHRASE
Notes
Duplicati uploads volumes of 50 MB by default, which is a good fit; raise Remote volume size on a fast link. Region is not needed, since the bucket already exists. Storage is $3 per TB per month after the free 50 GB, billed by the day, and restores are free.
