AWS CLI with Enderchest
The AWS CLI needs one extra flag to talk to Enderchest: the endpoint. Put it in a profile once and aws s3 commands work as they do against Amazon.
Endpoint https://s3.enderchest.store · region eu-ams-1 · path-style addressing · an access key from the console. 50 GB free on every account, then $3 per TB per month; downloads and API requests are free.
Configure a profile once, force path-style addressing, and pass --endpoint-url on each command (or set it in the profile).
aws configure --profile enderchest AWS Access Key ID: YOUR_ACCESS_KEY_ID AWS Secret Access Key: YOUR_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY Default region name: eu-ams-1 Default output format: json aws configure set --profile enderchest s3.addressing_style path aws configure set --profile enderchest endpoint_url https://s3.enderchest.store
export AWS_PROFILE=enderchest aws s3 mb s3://backups aws s3 cp ./archive.tar.zst s3://backups/2026/archive.tar.zst aws s3 sync ./photos s3://backups/photos --delete aws s3 ls s3://backups/ --recursive --human-readable aws s3api head-object --bucket backups --key 2026/archive.tar.zst aws s3 rm s3://backups/2026/archive.tar.zst
On older CLI versions that ignore endpoint_url in the profile, add --endpoint-url https://s3.enderchest.store to each command.
